Story A thirsty Crow

One day a crow became very thirsty. He flew from place to place in search of water but found no water. At last he grew so thirsty that he thought that he would die. He, however, continued his search and found a jar. At once the crow flew down to obtain a drink of water. There was a little water at the bottom of the jar. He tried to drink but could not drink at all. He saw that there were some stones beside the jar. A plan came into his head and he started to drop the stones into the jar one after another. At one time the water of the jar rose to the brim. The crow drank the water to its heart’s content and flew away.

Or

One summer day, a crow got very thirsty. It searched for water hither and thither. At last it saw a jar at a distance. It flew down to it. There was a little water at the bottom of the jar. But it was too low for the crow. The crow tried to upset the jar. But the crow was not too strong to do it. The crow was in a fix what to do.At last he hit upon a plan. He gathered rocks and put down it one by one into the jar.When it had dropped a large number of stones, the water in the jar rose high enough for him to reach it.Then the crow quenched its thirst drinking water to it’s heart content  and flew away with a joyful mind.

Or

It was a hot summer day. A crow became very thirsty. He flew from place to place in search of water. But he found no water. At last he found a jar at a little distance. Out of curiosity it flew to ft. It found a little water at the bottom of the jar, and the level of the water was beyond the reach of the crow.

 The extremely thirsty crow tried its level best to drink the water from the jar, but all its attempts ended in smoke. In the meantime, it saw some pebbles around the jar. Thinking for a while, the thirsty crow started to drop the pebbles into the jar one by one. After some time, it noticed the level of the water coming up. When the water level came within its reach, it drank water to its heart's content and flew away with a fully contented mind.

Story Unity is Strength

Once an old farmer had four sons. They could always quarreled with one another. One day the old farmer called his sons to bring some sticks and tied them in a bundle. He told them to break the bundle. They tried but could not break the bundle of the sticks. Then he told them to untie the bundle and gave a stick to sons and asked them to break it. Then all of them broke the stick easily. The farmer told them that if they would remain separate and quarreled with one another, the enemy would easily defeat them. But if they remained united like the bundle, they would be much stronger and the enemy could not do any harm to them. At this the three sons learnt a great lesson and began to live untidily and happily.

A farmer had three sons. They always quarreled. They were very idle too. This made the farmer unhappy. He tried to bring them to their senses but failed, At last he thought of a plan. He called all his sons and asked them to bring a bundle of sticks. When the bundle was brought, he asked the eldest son to break it. He tried hard but failed. Similarly he asked his two other sons one after another, but no one succeeded. He then asked them to untie the bundle and break the sticks one by one. Thus they did it very easily. Then the farmer said to them, “You see, my sons, each of you broke one stick easily. But none of you could break the bundle of ticks. Why couldn’t you do it?” The eldest son replied. “In the bundle the sticks were together and so we couldn’t break it. “That’s right,” said the father, “You see the strength of unity, now you must have together and no one can harm you.” After this they lived in peace and the farmer was happy.

Then the farmer told his sons, “If you live together, nobody can harm you and if you are separate, anybody will break you like the single stick”. From that event the sons of the old man realized their fault. So they became united and then they never made any quarreling again.

Story A Liar Shepherd

There was a shepherd boy. He kept a flock of sheep near a forest. It was not far from his village. One day, he wanted to make a fun with the villagers So, he began to shout “Wolf’ Wolf’ Help’ Help” The villagers heard his cry and ran to help him. When they came near him, they found no wolf there and the boy laughed at them. The villagers were fooled by the cunning boy and hence, they went away. After a few days, he made the same fun and the villagers came again to help him but found no wolf there. One day, a wolf really came and it attacked the flock of sheep. The boy somehow climbed up a tree and shouted for help. The villagers heard him but they thought that it was his another fun and no one came to help him. The wolf killed one of his sheep and took it away. The boy felt sorry for his silly joke. From then, he promised not to tell a lie and befool people again. 

or

There was a cowboy in a village. He used to tend cows in nearby field beside the forest. The cowboy was a great liar. He enjoyed himself making fun with people. He often (cÖvqB) cried (wPrKvi) “wolf, wolf”! Hearing the crying of the boy, the villagers came with bamboo, spares and other weapons. When they came, they could not see any wolf. But the boy laughed at them. He made it several times. The villagers lost their faith upon the boy. One day a wolf really came. This time the boy cried out for help, but none came to help. The wolf killed the boy.

Story Slow But Steady Wins The Race

Once there lived a hare and a tortoise in a jungle. Both of them were fast friends. The hare was very proud of his swiftness, but the tortoise walked slowly. The hare always taunted the tortoise for its slow pace. The tortoise angry and felt insulted every time. Once it asked the hare to run a race. The hare accepted the challenge.

The next day the race started from a particular place. They were to reach the bank of the river. The hare took a few leaps and was much ahead of the tortoise he looked back and saw that the tortoise was at a great distance. He decided to take a nap. But he slept for a long time. The tortoise had reached the goal. The hare ran very fast but the tortoise had already reached. The hare realized that slow and steady wins the race.  

Or

One day a hare met a tortoise on the way. The hare laughed at the tortoise for its slow motion. But the tortoise challenged the hare in a race competition. But the tortoise challenged the hare in a race competition. They decided a destination. Who will first reach the destination will be the winner of the race. They started their race. The hare ran fast but the tortoise ran very slowly. The hare could run a long distance. When he saw that the tortoise was not seen, he thought to sleep for a few time. In the meantime, the tortoise reached to the destination. When the hare woke up, he ran quickly and reached the destination. But there, he saw that the tortoise reached earlier. The tortoise than told the hare: “Slow and steady wins the race”.

Story Look Before You Leap

Sufiä is a worker in a big garments factory. More than five thousand workers work in that factory. One day, while she was busy in work, a sound was heard, “Fire! Fire! Help! Help! As ill news runs apace, the news spread very fast, among the workers. But no one noticed whether there was actually any fire or not. Having just heard the news, without any confirmation, all the workers of the factory became desperate to come outside.

But the factory had only one exit and the path which led to this gate was very narrow. Even three men or women could not pass through this path side by side at a time. So, when all the workers of the factory were trying to come out along this narrow path, the path became congested with the workers. Many workers fell down on the path because of the jostling in the crowd and were trampled by other workers. Some of them received severe injuries. In a word, a chaotic situation had been prevailing in the factory.

After observing the situation, the authority of the factory took steps to pacify the workers. The authority, announced through loud speaker that the news was a rumour and no fire had broken out. Actually, a pipe containing colour had burst out in the dying section but it caused no casualties. After hearing this announcement twice, the workers understood their follies and went back to their work.

Or

Once there as a crocodile who had four children. The crocodile wanted to teach her children. So, she went to fox and asked him if could teach her children. The fox gladly received the offer. So, the crocodile left her all children with the fox went back to the river. The fox liked to eat crocodile’s kids very much. So, he ate one of them. After a week the crocodile came to the fox to see her sweet children. The cunning fox showed one kid twice making a total of four. And told the crocodile that they were do meritorious. The crocodile became satisfied and went away. Then every week the fox ate one of them and followed  the same trick. After eating the fourth child the fox left the place forever. After a week the crocodile came again to see her sweet child but found nothing. She finally understood everything and left the place with profound grief. 

Or

Once a fox was roaming in the dark. As ill luck would have it, he fell into a well. He tried his best to come out but all to no use. So, he had to remain there till the next morning. At about fore-noon the next day, a goat came that way. She peeped into the well and saw the fox there. “What are you doing there, Mr Fox ?” asked the goat. I came here to drink water. It is the best I have ever tasted. Come and see for yourself,” replied the sly fox. Without thinking even a bit, the goat jumped into the well. She quenched her thirst and looked for a way to get out.

The fox said, “I’ve an idea. Stand on your hind legs. I’ll climb on your head and get out. Then I shall help you out too.” The silly goat did so and the fox got out of the well.

While walking away, he said, ” Had you been wise, you would never have got in without seeing how to get out.”
