Subject: Application for setting up a debating club.
Sir,
With due respect I, on behalf of the students of your school, want to inform you that, ours is one of the best schools in Dhaka city. But it is a matter of sorrow that we have no debating club in our school.  There are many students who are interested in debating. But they do not get enough scope to develop their skill in the form of existence for want of a Debating Club. Generally, it provides the students with opportunity to arrange the debating competition occasionally. In the circumstances, we need a debating club in our school and I hope that you would be kind enough to make an arrangement for setting up a debating club in our school as early as possible.
I therefore pray and hope that you would be kind enough to set up a debating club in our school and oblige thereby.
Yours obediently

Sir,
We, the students of your school, have the honor to state that there is no debating club in our school. But we feel the need of a debating club in our school. Debating is crucial for the students overall development from the students. It develops chance to acquire knowledge and expertise of speaking. It helps us distinguish between the right and wrong and refines each of our sensibility. It also helps us to prepare for future years leadership.
We, therefore, pray and hope that you would like to establish a debating club in our school and nominate a teacher as a guide and oblige thereby.

Composition A Journey By Train / A Journey You Have Recently Enjoyed

Journey is always fascinating. It charms our mind and makes us happy. After a journey, we feel relaxed and fresh. Peace fills our heart after we have made a really wonderful journey.
I made a journey by train with my friends last year. I received a letter from my uncle at Chittagong to attend the marriage ceremony of his daughter. I took some of my friends with me. Early in the morning I reached Kamlapur Railway station where I found my other friend’s. The train came. We got into the train and found our seats beside the window. The guard blew his whistle and waved his green flag. the engine slowly began to move and we glided out of the station. Everything that we were passing was pretty and so we amused ourselves by looking through the windows. As the train winded away eastwards, we could see a number of hills and mountains. We passed by the green fields beautiful watery areas and wonderful hillocks. Everything seemed very bright and pleasant to us. From the train, we could see the clear, green waters and women and small boys and girls swimming happily and taking bath in the ponds and rivers. At last at 4 p.m. we reached Chittagong.  The journey seemed to me like a dream. However, when we reached Chittagong, we found my uncle waiting for us. He welcomed us and took to his residence. Thus our wonderful journey ended very beautifully.

A journey is often a pleasure. A journey by train is also pleasure. A journey by train is much joyful to me. It is a common journey in Bangladesh. It was summer. My school was closed. I and some of my friends decided to go to my sister’s house in Chittagon by train. It was 2013. We reached kamalapur railway station by a taxi. We bought our tickets and got into the train at 7 a.m.
When the train whistled , the train stared moving. I sat beside a window. The train left urban area soon. Then the train began running through the green field of the rural areas. I gazed and gazed at the houses, trees and medows. My mind became cheerful. Everything seemed to be running.
Then it crossed a bridge over a river. It was an express train. It stopped only at a few big stations. At noon we reached the areas of chittagong district. I felt joy seeing hills. After seven hour, the train reached chittagong railway station at 4 p.m. We got down from the train and went to my sister’s house by a taxi. We enjoyed the journey much. It gave us much pleasure.
A journey by train is a joyful journey. We shall never forget this journey. It gave me a lot of pleasure. We enjoyed the journey very much.

A journey is pleasant to all. A journey by train is especially very pleasant and enjoyable to me. A few days ago I made a journey by train from Dhaka to Chittagong.
During the last vacation one of my friends requested me to attend his sister’s marriage ceremony at Chittagong. So I got a chance to make a journey by train. I accepted this invitation gladly.
Two other friends joined with me. On the fixed day we reached Kamalapur Railway Station at 07:00 A.M. The station was very crowded. Somehow we managed to buy our tickets. With great difficulty we got into the train. Fortunately I got my seat beside the window. After a few minutes the guard blew the whistle and the train began to move on. At first the train moved on slowly. There it began to run in full speed.
I kept looking outside through the window. The train was passing through the green fields. Dew drops on green grasses were glittering like pearls. Trees and houses seemed to run behind. We saw the farmers working in the field. Cattle were grazing here and there. I enjoyed the scenes with cheerful mind. The train stopped at a few big stations. We bought boiled eggs, bananas, and magazines etc. from the hawkers. When the train started from Feni Station, I saw the hills of Chittagong. On the right I saw the vast sheet of water of the Bay of Bengal. All these pleased me very much.
At last, the train reached Chittagong at 02:00 P.M. We got down from the train and saw my friend at the station. He came to receive to us. He became very pleased to see us.
It was the most pleasant journey in my life. I enjoyed it so much that the memory to the journey will remain ever fresh in my heart.

Once I traveled by train with my family to Delhi. My uncle lives there. He works in a bank. It was the occasion of my cousin's marriage with a local girl. We boarded the train in the morning. The train left Patna railway station in due time. It was a through mail train. It moved very fast without frequent stoppages. I took my seat near a window. The scenes on both sides of the train-line were moving fast behind us. Cool breeze washed my face with pleasant touches. I could see the villages and towns, the paddy-fields, the ponds, the rivers, the canals, the roads, the bullock-carts and so on. I could not remember how my time had passed. The railway contractors served us food, drinking water, snacks, tea or coffee, from time to time inside the train. The co-passengers in our compartment were gentle and peace-loving. At night, it was dark outside. My parents made me lie down on a lower birth, after the supper. I fell asleep. In the morning, I sat again near the window and enjoyed the sights, as before. The train reached Delhi in the afternoon. My uncle came to receive us at the station.

Story A thirsty Crow

One day a crow became very thirsty. He flew from place to place in search of water but found no water. At last he grew so thirsty that he thought that he would die. Story Unity is Strength

Once an old farmer had four sons. They could always quarreled with one another. One day the old farmer called his sons to bring some sticks and tied them in a bundle. He told them to break the bundle. They tried but could not break the bundle of the sticks. Then he told them to untie the bundle and gave a stick to sons and asked them to break it. Then all of them broke the stick easily. The farmer told them that if they would remain separate and quarreled with one another, the enemy would easily defeat them. But if they remained united like the bundle, they would be much stronger and the enemy could not do any harm to them. At this the three sons learnt a great lesson and began to live untidily and happily.

Similarly he asked his two other sons one after another, but no one succeeded. He then asked them to untie the bundle and break the sticks one by one. Thus they did it very easily. Then the farmer said to them, “You see, my sons, each of you broke one stick easily. But none of you could break the bundle of ticks. Why couldn’t you do it?” The eldest son replied. “In the bundle the sticks were together and so we couldn’t break it. “That’s right,” said the father, “You see the strength of unity, now you must have together and no one can harm you.” After this they lived in peace and the farmer was happy.

Paragraph Environment Pollution

The elements of our surroundings such as air, water, soil, weather, climate, etc. all make up our environment. If the natural relationships among these elements are disturbed, the ecological balance is hampered and this is termed environmental pollution. Our environment is polluted in many ways. Man makes fire for various purposes. This fire produces smoke and smoke pollutes the air. Again railway engines, mills, factories, buses, cars, and trucks also emit smoke and cause air pollution. Water, another vital element of the environment, is also polluted for various reasons. Chemical fertilizers and insecticides, filth and waste products of mills and factories are responsible for water pollution. Again, steamers, launches and even boats throw waste into in the rivers and pollute water. Further, the horns of vehicles and the sound of the machines of mills and factories cause sound pollution. All these types of pollution have harmful effects on humans, animals, and plant. Air pollution causes different respiratory diseases and water pollution causes water-borne diseases. Sound pollution affects the capacity of our hearing. Again pollution causes an ecological imbalance that brings about different types of disasters. So, we should keep the environment pollution-free so that we can ensure a safe abode for ourselves and the generation to come.
Or
All the ingredients that we have around us are jointly known as environment. Environment pollution implies the contamination of the surroundings. Any abnormal change of environment in chemical, physical and biological characteristics in environment is called environment pollution. Environment is the whole system of our existence. Our environment is becoming polluted everyday for several reasons. Human beings mainly pollute environment. Massive industrialization is an important cause of environment. Smoke from motor vehicles also pollutes environment. Serious environment pollution occurs in big cities because buses, trucks and cars play in the streets everyday and emit smoke. Mills and factories also pollute water. They throw their waste products into rivers and canals. By burning wood and melting pitch for road construction people make more smoke and pollute air. We use pesticide in our crop fields. It also pollutes our environment. Indiscriminate cutting of trees has also turned unbalanced environment. The ecological balance is being lost as a result of environment pollution. If we all desire to live a healthy and tranquillized life, we should make our environment clean and free from pollution. We should be all whole-heartedly in keeping our environment fit for habitation.

Paragraph Load Shedding

Load shedding means the discontinuation of supply of electricity. Load shedding occurs when generation of power is less than the demand and also for unplanned distribution of electricity. Now-a-days load shedding is almost a daily occurrence in cities, towns, suburbs and even in villages. There is hardly any area, which is not affected by it. Cinema houses, shops, factories, hospitals are all affected by it. The industrial units are paralysed for the time being. Production is hampered due to failure of electricity. Even operations stop in hospitals for load shedding. The students close their books and sit idly in darkness. Thus, load shedding causes much harm to academic activities, diminishing the academic standard. They curse the authorities especially if electricity fails before their examination. During load shedding people’s life on the street becomes insecure too. The further hazard is that the monthly bill of electricity never shows any sign of reduction even though there has been frequent load shedding over the whole month. The whole country is bound to collapse if the present condition of load shedding is not improved. So the government should think over the matter deeply and take necessary steps to check it as early as possible.
Or
Load shedding means the discontinuity of supply of electricity for short or long time. Nowadays it has become a part of our daily life. There are many reasons for load shedding. The insufficient production of electricity is the main reason of it. Misuse and illegal connection of electricity are the other reasons of it. It occurs mostly at night because the demand of electricity is more than in the daytime. The bad effects of load shedding are beyond description. It creates problem in the socio-economic development of the country. Mills and factories, shops, hospitals etc. become paralyzed due to load shedding. The sufferings of the students know no bounds. They sit in the darkness closing their books during the load shedding. They suffer a lot of if it occurs in the time of their examination. The patients also suffer terribly because operation stops in hospitals for load shedding. Load shedding at night also encourages the thieves. However, this problem should be solved at any cost. The concerned authority must take necessary steps to stop it. More power stations should be established. Illegal connection and system loss should also be stopped. After all, there is no alternative to be conscious about the misuse of electricity.
